One very skilled good guy was FBI agent extraordinaire John P. O'Neill, formerly the Director of Counterterrorism in the New York office. He was an absolute expert on our archenemy/terrorist, Osama bin Laden, a Saudi Arabian. John O'Neill was obsessive in his bin Laden investigations. He spent long hours and demanded a great deal from himself. He was flamboyant, energetic and an effective, brilliant investigator. He felt that it was possible to destroy the Al Qaeda network but that the work had to begin in Saudi Arabia - where else if that is where Osama was from. However, in January 2001, incoming president, George W. Bush, immediately stopped all attempts by John O'Neill in his investigation of Saudi and bin Laden connections.
There are very good reasons why Bush hindered the investigations. George W. Bush had a long term business relationship with Salem bin Laden, the older half brother of Osama and the head of one of the world's biggest construction companies. His company, which he took over after the death of his father in 1972, helped to build the U.S. airfields during the first gulf war. Salem bin Laden was an investor in George W. Bush's oil company - Arbusto Energy Company in Texas. Another one of Bush's financial backers was James Bath, a Houston aircraft broker who also had ties to Salem bin Laden. In fact, it was on behalf of Salem bin Laden that James Bath purchased the Houston Gulf Airport.
Salem, a very experienced pilot, died in an unfortunate "freak" plane crash near San Antonio on 29 May 1988. Arbusto later became Bush Exploration when George H. W. Bush became vice president. The company was close to financial collapse in September 1984 when it merged with Spectrum 7 Energy Corporation owned by William DeWitt and Mercer Reynolds. They immediately made George W. Bush president of the company and gave him over 13% of the stock. Spectrum merged with Harken Energy in 1986 and in 1990 received a huge contract with the government of Bahrain to drill for off-shore oil which tiny Harken had never before done. This was possibly at the request of President George H. W. Bush (1989-1993) through the Saudi government with whom President Bush was closely allied. The unsuccessful project was soon abandoned.
Prior to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, George W. Bush sold his 212,140 shares of Harken stock on 20 June 1990. They sold at $4 a share for a total of $848,560 which was $318,430 more than they were worth. George is just really lucky that people were looking the other way when this insider trading occurred. Heck, Martha Stewart wasn't even accused of insider trading but was guilty of lying about it. I suppose this suggests that there are laws for the politically connected and then there are laws for successful business women which may be the same as the laws for the really regular folks. A book entitled: Fortunate Son: George W. Bush and the Making of an American President was written by James Howard Hatfield and gives more details about this. Unfortunately this author will not be able to supply any more details than what is in the book as he was found dead on 18 July 2001 at the age of 43 in a motel room from an apparent prescription drug overdose, an open and shut case - no police need investigate!

As of 2001, the top 1% of households (the upper class) owned 33.4% of all privately held wealth, and the next 19% (the managerial, professional, and small business stratum) had 51%, which means that just 20% of the people owned a remarkable 84%, leaving only 16% of the wealth for the bottom 80% (wage and salary workers). I have worked with large (200+) diverse groups in an 'act of unity' and it has gotten to a point where I don't care anymore...and you may find my reason interesting.

Well... I discovered 'this kind of stuff' was happening with people all around me (relatives, friends, etc.) and I did not have a clue.
It was my older cousins who 'tipped me off' because when I was visiting, the slightest thing that would disrupt 'the flow' caused 'another pill to be taken', and this was perfectly alright with them, because the doctor prescribed it.
Then, while talking with someone who is activist oriented, I mentioned "drug induced society" and was told, with hurt feelings, this person and their friends were doing this 'crap' too ('tranqs and mooders' (sic)).
So..., I went to where I was once able to gather information (a dot gov) on prescriptions (where I accumulated statistics for 2002) and was no longer able to access information on tranquillizers, sleeping pills, or antidepressants, and guess that is something that has been 'stuck away'...or at least that is how it appears.
So... I did some projection studies and came to the conclusion there was nothing that could be done. I also saw where these projections could fit into a chemical induced public apathy; the kind that makes small turnouts at elections, fails to get folks to speak their mind, or attend rallies.

On top of this, everything I have read indicates people who do these drugs would have to "ease themselves off them over a period of time," and 'there would be an addiction edge to the process'; in other words, it would be VERY HARD to get these folks straight again...and they probably would not consider using cannabis related products as a substitute, while 'getting over the pain of life' that has been blocked by these FDA/AMA approved drugs.
Internet Projections
For most practical purposes, the original concept of Internet is over and a new Corporatist Internet will convene.
There is a scheme that will assign a personal static access number to everyone who uses the Internet and eventually all personal information (income, credit, payments, shopping habits, etc.) will be tied to this 'personal number' in an act of mass marketing and the browser a living catalog.
In a note to a friend about NEOCONS I wrote, "As I have said before, THEY did not include 'it' (Internet) in their original plan that culminated when 6 corporations took over major media and it was the Internet who protected us from ;-) an early FEMA camp ...and kept 'free press' alive.
FCC Chief: AT&T Can Limit Net Bandwidth
FCC Chief Kevin Martin yesterday gave his support to AT&T and other telcos who want to be able to limit bandwidth to sites like Google, unless those sites pay extortion fees. Martin made it clear in a speech yesterday that he supports such a a "tiered" Internet.
Martin told attendees at the TelecomNext show that telcos should be allowed to charge web sites whatever they want if those sites want adequate bandwidth.
He threw in his lot with AT&T, Verizon, and the other telcos, who are no doubt salivating at the prospect at charging whatever the market can bear.
He did throw a bone to those who favor so-called "net neutrality" -- the idea that telcos and other ISPs should not be allowed to limit services or bandwidth, or charge sites extra fees. He said that the FCC "has the authority necessary" to enforce network neutrality violations. He added that it had done so already, when it stepped in to stop an ISP from blocking Vonage VoIP service.
But Martin's interpretation of "net neutrality" is far too narrow, and almost besides the point. By siding with telcos who want to be able to offer adequate bandwidth to sites that pay up, and to limit bandwidth to sites that don't, he'll help kill off new sites that can't afford to fork over the money.

Greater than 90 percent of Internet users and the majority of Internet traffic use AT&T, Verizon, or Qwest.
If these Corporatists are allowed to do this, Nobody will be able to create a new or innovative web service because popularity will increase ISP billing; in turn, cause (personal) sites to close down.
By initiating a form of double billing, popular sites will 'be outrageously overcharged, even if they do not sell anything and needless to say, this will not bother Corporatists because they will write this off their income tax.
One way around this will be sub nets or P2P technology, but (imo) a losing battle; that is, unless the folks who currently run the country are removed from office and in some cases, jailed.
The seeds have been planted and it is now up to the people to decide if they want a 1984 styled dictator or a Constitutional Democratic Government.

WASHINGTON — President Bush's grandfather was a director of a bank seized by the federal government because of its ties to a German industrialist who helped bankroll Adolf Hitler's rise to power, government documents show.
Prescott Bush (search) was one of seven directors of Union Banking Corp. (search), a New York investment bank owned by a bank controlled by the Thyssen family, according to recently declassified National Archives documents reviewed by The Associated Press.
Fritz Thyssen (search) was an early financial supporter of Hitler, whose Nazi party Thyssen believed was preferable to communism. The documents do not show any evidence Bush directly aided that effort. His position with Union Banking never was a political issue for Bush, who was elected to the Senate from Connecticut in 1952. WASHINGTON -- Reporters who write about government surveillance could be prosecuted under proposed legislation that would solidify the administration's eavesdropping authority, according to some legal analysts who are concerned about dramatic changes in U.S. law.
But an aide to the bill's chief author, Sen. Mike DeWine, R-Ohio, said that is not the intention of the legislation.
"It in no way applies to reporters _ in any way, shape or form," said Mike Dawson, a senior policy adviser to DeWine, responding to an inquiry Friday afternoon. "If a technical fix is necessary, it will be made."
The Associated Press obtained a copy of the draft of the legislation, which could be introduced as soon as next week.
The draft would add to the criminal penalties for anyone who "intentionally discloses information identifying or describing" the Bush administration's terrorist surveillance program or any other eavesdropping program conducted under a 1978 surveillance law.
Under the boosted penalties, those found guilty could face fines of up to $1 million, 15 years in jail or both.
Kate Martin, director of the Center for National Security Studies, said the measure is broader than any existing laws. She said, for example, the language does not specify that the information has to be harmful to national security or classified.
"The bill would make it a crime to tell the American people that the president is breaking the law, and the bill could make it a crime for the newspapers to publish that fact," said Martin, a civil liberties advocate.
DeWine is co-sponsoring the bill with Sens. Olympia Snowe of Maine, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska. The White House and Republican Senate leaders have indicated general support, but the bill could face changes as it works its way through Congress.
Existing U.S. law makes it a crime to disclose classified information to an unauthorized person, generally putting the burden on government officials to protect the information.
But a special provision exists to provide added protections for highly classified electronic _ or "signals" _ intelligence. That would include U.S. intelligence codes or systems used to break them.
David Tomlin, the AP's assistant general counsel, said government officials with security clearances would be potential targets under DeWine's bill.
"But so would anyone else who received an illegal disclosure under the proposed act, knew what it was and deliberately disclosed it to others. That's what some reporters do, often to great public benefit," he said.
Lucy Dalglish, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, said the language would allow anyone _ "if you read a story in the paper and pass it along to your brother-in-law" _ to be prosecuted.
"As a practical matter, would they use this to try to punish any newspaper or any broadcast? It essentially makes coverage of any of these surveillance programs illegal," she said. "I'm sorry, that's just not constitutional."

1974 UFO Message

While participating with an amateur radio network during 1974 I heard a high speed Morse code message that repeated three times, without identification, and went silent.
The message stated a time, date, frequency, and requested the broadcast be recorded.
The broadcast was on high frequency radio and starts off with poor sound and gets better a few minutes after the start.
Even though some of the information is 'off', it is important to remember this was 1974 and that some things mentioned, in some cases, pertain to today.
Of interest are claims the government is being taken over, references to oil crisis, and a disaster on the 'Gulf Coast'.

Synopsis
In a nicer part of the city, "Downtown," the Metrocops burst into an apartment and arrest a young woman accused of being a Blank. As we watch, she is hauled before a computer court by the sinister prosecutor Dragul. He inserts the relevant data, and she is found guilty. Crying "Blank is Beautiful!" she is hauled away to prison.
Immediately after, we see Edison Carter being roused for his busy day. First the shower quits, then the coffee maker fails, then - while watching Simon Peller be announced the winner of the overnight telelection, the TV quits. Carter calls Theora only to find that all the satellite links have gone down as well. Technology is rebelling, Max warns them.
Carter goes to interview the victorious Peller, whom he detests. After a short time, his link goes down, ending the hostile interview. Peller calls the Network 23 board to lambaste them for not being able to connect him with his voting constituency. However, all satellite links are down now, and there are zero viewers worldwide. It's panic in the boardrooms, and increasingly in the streets as people are cut off from their electronic opiate. Edwards suggests distributing emergency video players.
Meanwhile, Bryce is showing Carter his latest achievement, a software tool called "Data Rescan" that allows him to manipulate video footage. Bryce puts a tractor in a scene of sweating slaves pulling the Trojan Horse; Carter takes over and turns it into the Trojan Sheep. They are baaaa-ing at each other when Theora cuts in to tell Carter there's an important story breaking.
The situation in the streets is getting wilder as video vendors hawk their black market tapes and small video booths draw huge crowds suffering from withdrawal. Janie Crane is covering the chaos, but only on her way to the real story, that of the Blank who was arrested earlier. Edison Carter joins her and with a guiding Metrocop, they survey the wreckage of the girl's apartment.
Janie Crane makes a horrifying discovery: the girl's television has a highly illegal off switch! At that moment, a message begins to roll across every screen and monitor in the world: the disruptions were deliberate, and unless Peller's egregious arrests of the Blanks are stopped and the imprisoned ones freed, every computer in the city will be destroyed. They have until sunset - just hours. The satellite feeds are now taken down in seriousness.
As Blank Reg shares his lunch with the dog Fang, Dominique asks about the impending problem. It appears that Reg knows a great deal about what's coming - as much as an insider. Dom is entranced by the idea that if all the computers are destroyed, Big Time may be the only network left on the air.
Cheviot orders Carter onto the story in an attempt to ferret out the perpetrators - for negotiation, if not arrest. Murray and Bryce suggest shifting operations to Carter's apartment in an attempt to stay "off the grid" and invisible to the hacker terrorists.
Carter, Theora and Bryce begin their attempt to find the hackers, while Janie Crane broadcasts the story that Peller's roundup of Blanks continues. Peller is holed up with Cheviot in the board room. When Carter says he'd love to be a fly on that wall, Bryce obliges with his graduation project, a mechanical fly "bug"... but it only lasts seconds before Cheviot swats it.
Blank Reg has relocated the Big Time bus to a high ridge over a city that looks suspiciously like Los Angeles, assuring Dom that the windy and unpleasant location is necessary both to broadcast to the whole city and to help out "Blank Bruno" and "the lads."
Meanwhile, Theora has found the portal to the hacker's computer, but it's tightly guarded. They decide to use a Trojan Horse, something no hacker could resist... Max himself. He's to get in, keep the data line open, and send back as much information as he can before they pull him out.
He's encapsulated and sent, and Bruno is very intrigued... but very suspicious. It only takes Bruno a moment to "flatline" the data lines, trapping Max in his computer, where he exists only in volatile RAM... one keystroke from oblivion.
Blank Reg now sets up a "Solar Trigger," a device to automatically track the declination of the sun and thus notify Blank Bruno and his team when it's sundown and time to trigger the wipeout program. He then begins broadcasting Big Time's trademark cheesy old '80s videos.
There's jubilation in the streets as the one rotten channel returns, horror in the boardrooms, and anger on the part of Traker and then Bruno, as Reg's broadcasting undercuts their pressure tactics. Traker threatens to put Reg "back in the files," and Bruno gets Reg to pull the plug... "because you owe me," he insinuates. ButNetwork 23 is tracing Reg and Bruno's call, and nearly pin down the locations before Bruno's computer detects the monitoring and cuts the link.
Afterward, Max and Bruno are having a most interesting discussion about the Blank's antipathy towards computers, the "false faith" with which the networks are mesmerizing the masses. When Max goes too far and Bruno threatens to delete him, Max's simpering goes nowhere... for while Max is unique, he is repeatable. Bruno was once Bryce Lynch's teacher.
Bryce, Theora and Edison have been anxiously staring at the blank screens, waiting for Max to return. As they wait, angry voices begin rising in the street as people being to fight over the few video recordings avaiable. It occurs to Carter that they have an option: Bryce's "Data Rescan." If history won't go their way... they'll make history lie.
Carter flies to see Blank Reg, the one person he knows who might know what's going on. Theora heads out to make herself up in full glamour mode, the better to bamboozle Simon Peller, and Bryce stands by with the Data Rescan program waiting.
Carter persuades Reg to talk - about himself and how he became a Blank, about the rogue computer geniuses who "blanked" his files, and about the plan they're now running to free their friends and destroy the networks' control over people. Reg is finally persuaded to put
Bruno spares Max, and with the deadline ticking down, releases him, saying he might as well meet oblivion in the comfort of his own computer. Bryce, Theora and Edison have been waiting, staring at the blank screens, for Max to return.
