D -- (would be evoked by "J.SMITH,Password,D")
Gives a Directory of un-read memos you have sent previously and that have
not yet been picked up by their recipients. List will be printed at the
beginning of any incoming memos you may have. Format will consist of:
the user name of the person you sent to, the time you sent it, the date
you sent it.
S -- Send only. ("J.SMITH,Password,S")
Jumps to "Send to:" prompt (Covered later) Should only be used
if you KNOW that you have no messages waiting, otherwise they will be skipped & you
may miss important massages.
P -- Purge. (Yep,,format is the same)
Only works if you have a Directory of un-read memos (see above) otherwise
it does nothing. User nome, date & time sent for un-read memo will
be printed in some format as Directory option except "Purge?" will
be printed at the end of the line, if "YES" or "Y" is
typed in response to this the memo will be killed. (Careful with this
one folks) this is good if you sent a memo you regret & the user
has not read it yet or if you sent one to the wrong person etc. etc.
HOWEVER if the user has already read the message then it will no longer
be in your directory & thus cannot be purged.
R -- Purge/Review. Like Purge but with one extra feature, format is identical to Purge option and memos may be killed in the same manor as above, however typing "R" in answer to "Purge?" instead of "Y" or "N" will print the message you sent to the user shown. Nothing else will be done to the message and it will stay in your directory until the user reads it or you run memo again & purge it.
And last of all, CRT limit.
(Format "J.SMITH,Password,(Option):NUMBER OF LINES/PAGE)
Of course if you don't want any options you may also use CRT limit by typing, "J. SMITH,Password,# OF LINES/PAGE" (One quick note here for those of you that will type ANYTHING verbatim, J.SMITH is only meant to be an example & in normal practice you would substitute your name!) And now of course, we explain what it's for, CRT limit is used to let memo know if you are using a CRT & how many lines may be printed before text starts scrolling off the screen. I for one usually specify 24 as a CRT limit ("J.SMITH,PSW,OPT:24") so text won't scroll off the screen of my IQ120. When memo prints the number of lines specified a een of my IQ120. When memo prints eep) will, sound and printing will stop, to get another screenfull hit Return (CR) and printing will resume.
