Lou Gerencer Jr. wins Grand National Championship, [wait a minute, (I
sez to myself), I know him. An adjacent city to mine is Elkhart,
Indiana. Located there is Gerencers Harley Davidson. I've met Lou Jr.
and Sr on a couple occasions, but not until reading the specs, did I
know Jr raced. Cool!. Louie Sr used to be in the hill climbing circuit.
From the stories of friends who saw him race, he would cup his hands
over the two engine sides to determine by feel when they were "ripe for
the race". Then he'd let it go and blow the competition away.
I guess he in his day, took some national titles in hill climbing.].
