HD tidbits from '68

The Rapido ML-125S, 125cc (which became the TX in '73, the SX in '74, {175cc later, 250cc} and the SXT & Z90 in '75). They were built 1968-1977 I believe.

Main models, (Production #'s/ retail)
*FB = foot shifted. Production for (FL=1,650, /$1,735),
(FLH=5,300, /$1,800).

XLH - 883cc, (1,975/ $1,650), "Sportster Super H"
XLCH - 883cc, (4,900/ $1,600), "Sportster Super CH"

FLHFB - 74ci, 4 speed foot, "Electra Glide Super Sport".
FLHB - 74ci, 4 speed hand, "Electra Glide Super Sport"
FLFB - 74ci, 4 speed foot, "Electra Glide"
FLB - 74ci, 4 speed hand, "Electra Glide"

GE Servi-Car - 45ci flathead, 3 speed + reverse, (600/ $1,930)

Front fork internals featuring revised damping & 1" additional travel,
no kickstarter, peanut tank optional.

FL:
Aluminum bodied oil pump, restyled tank-top instrument console
w/rectangular indicator lights, larger switch keyhole cover, wet clutch
plates and redesigned clutch springs, fiberglass sidecar body.

MoFoCo minutes:
In the face of financial crisis, merger negotiations with American
Machine and Foundry Company begin. December 18, merger voted.
First year of Easyrider magazine.

Racing:
Calvin Rayborn wins Daytona 200-mile Expert Championship on a KRTT w/record 101.29 mph.
Roger Reiman sets a record at Daytona time trials of 149.08 mph.

The KR was revitalized in '68/69, KR750-Ceriani forks, Fontana four
leading shoe front drum brakes, Tillotson carbs, revised exhaust valve
timing and cam profiles, 7000 rpm, 60+ hp.
