HD tidbits from '22
['Dat HD don't got no motor.]

[It's not often that telling someone that your bike is a Harley-Davidson
would bring to mind images of a bicycle. But in 1922, you could buy a
genuine HD bicycle for $35-45].

Motorcycle sales for the whole industry was way down.
HD would drastically drop prices, and use direct mail
campaigns/advertising. The engineering team would set out to improve
performance, reliability and maintainability.

" longer life" valve springs, revised - crankcases, gearbox and cover,
and front forks.

MoCo minutes:
- HD and Indian meet to discuss equal retail price structure.
- Baron Okura contracts with Afred Child for importing HD into Japan.

Racing:
- George Ellis & J.T. Blandford win Sidecar Trade Team Award, they also win Boston to Chicago, setting a record.
