June 29, Walter Davidson rides a stock Silent Gray Fellow to win
Catskills-to-Brooklyn race with a perfect 1,000 points, plus an
additional 5 points and a diamond medal for consistency of rider and
machine. While other riders had 4 wheel support carrying parts, Walter
arrived for the race with no spares, no support. He wore #35.
July 3, Walter sets FAM economy record at 188.234 miles per gallon. He used 1 quart and 1 oz of fuel.
Harvey Benard on a HD 61ci flathead V-twin wins first place at a hill
climb event sponsored by Chicago Motor Club, Algonquin, Illinois.
Harvey 'somehow' got a hold of a prototype Harley V-twin, retrofit it
into the frame of a single. The true making of the 'backyard' special
remains a mystery.
