HD tidbits from 1904

Model 0: 24.74 ci F-head, (8 made), $200.

Paint: Piano-finish Black.

Early method of identification that matches year to model by subtracting
four from last year. Crankcase baffle plates cast in.

The first "factory" is built. It is a 10' X 15' shed built by the
Davidson's father, William C. Davidson, a cabinetmaker, and the eldest
son, William Davidson. It was built at 38th and Highland streets, in the
Davidson's backyard.

The factory would also have four part time employees.

The first HD dealership was founded by Mr. C. H. Lang of Chicago, IL,
who sold all of the motorcycles built this year.

Work begins on the next major model change, 'The Silent Gray Fellow'.

***tidbits taken from various sources.
